Social Advance has been initiated by Alan Zundel, a former political scientist who has been politically active for many years. It is being developed as a membership organization to work together in pursuit of its stated goals.
By providing information, holding workshops, organizing lobbying campaigns, engaging in elections and other activities we hope to equip our members and allies to be active and effective citizens in pursuit of our larger vision.
Alan’s experience in active citizenship goes back to the early 1970s when he participated in protests against the Vietnam War. Since then he has been involved in a variety of volunteer actions, from public interest organizations and signature gathering campaigns, through union leadership and political party work, to election campaigns and running for office.
Alan holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in political science and taught for nearly twenty years. His areas of expertise were public policy studies and political philosophy, and his research focus was on ways to address the growth of economic inequality in the United States over the last forty years. Since leaving academia over ten years ago he has been especially active in electoral reform efforts.
Alan initiated Social Advance as a means to forge a different path toward resolving the economic and political dilemmas that face our society at the beginning of the 21st century.
He welcomes you to join him in this effort!
